Hi Everyone,
We had the engagement party last night and it was a great success. Eli gave a really good speech that had everyone crying, which is pretty impressive. I videoed all the speeches but when you see them you have to give me some slack on the steadyness, because I was videoing all together for almost an hour and my arms were tired!
Alot of people showed up and so many of them came for Leah and she wasn't sapposed to know anyone. Well she walked away in good health, nobody grilled her or asked to many personal questions. Actualy on the way home Leah told me that nobody really asked her anything! They just politly nodded and smiled (you know that stuff that Ima taught us about socializing well).
Here are some pictures. There is a blurry one that I am posting anyway because it is just such a good picture.
Love and miss you all!!!!

Thanks for posting the pictures so quickly. Everyone looks very happy and the food looks beautiful and I'm sure tasted great.
Your commentary gave me an idea. Perhaps we need to create "advanced etiquette" classes. Something like what to say after you smile and nod. I'd certainly sign up. Or Miriam you could write a special occasion recipe cookbook that includes a chapter on etiquette - what to say to strangers invited for shabbos, what to say to the fiancee at a vort (and vice versa) etc I think it was Eli who once complained that the only thing adults ever said to him was "how's school". Anyway, just a thought.
I hope you all have a good shabbos together. And someone said at Friday night dinner "We've never had THIS group before".
Love
